The Body Series tackles a sensitive topic first describing the affects of extra weight on the dancing body, then how to encourage nutrition discussion in the studio.

Nice list from @bodiesneverlie
I have not come across a program for purchase, though programs that combine movement and music (from well known: Kindermusik to less known: http://www.little-folks-music.com/) are out there.
Many dance studios develop their own programs based on their creative dance/preschool curriculum - generally any creative dance exercise can be adapted for a paired parent and child.
I can personally recommend the book, Creative Dance for All Ages (http://astore.amazon.com/danceadvan-20/detail/0883145324) - not only is it a great creative dance resource with tons of explorations/games and sample lessons but it is a great guide for planning and organizing creative dance curriculum. It also has some brief but useful advice for parent/child classes with sample plans.
There’s also a ton of great creative dance ideas online that you can use in your classes - again, they can easily be adapted. Try our Kid Concepts column: http://danceadvantage.net/author/kidconcepts/ and the Maria’s Movers blog: http://mariasmovers.com to name a few favorites.
Best of luck!

@davetriesballet has put together a practical post for those new to watching ballet or concert dance in general.
Applications for Young Dancer Of The Year Award 2011 now open 16th September 2011
Reckon you can move your body like Nicole Scherzinger or fancy yourself as the next Derek Hough? Up and coming dancers now have the chance to prove their ability by applying for the Young Dancer Of The Year…
I have to admit it, I have a love-hate relationship DDN (dance.net).
It is one of the most active dance sites for an old dance geek like me.
One of its charms is that it attracts an eclectic mix to the ballet board. You’ve got those who danced professionally. You’ve got those who’ve danced maybe…
Nevermind this is a marketing/copywriting site for the moment. A must-read for all teachers!
