Help family members of a young dancer establish a dance scholarship in her honor:
“I have a special request. I am asking for your help in spreading the word through your blog and dance contacts about the Cyan Memorial Scholarship fund drive. I am not a dancer nor familiar with the dance world but my 25 yo niece, Cyan Maroney, was a professional dancer but she was murdered this past October when she came home from work. Her mom, dad, brother, and fellow dancers were and are still devastated. Her family is trying to focus on the positive and establish a scholarship for dancers at Connecticut College, her alma mater. Cyan got her dance degree at Connecticut College (home to Dave Dorfman Dance), studied with Doug Varone, attended the American Dance Festival, Bates Festival, taught dance with different community organizations throughout her life.
Please here are some links where you can learn more about Cyan:

Raising funds for this scholarship helps the family emotionally and enables them to honor her memory by continuing her devotion to the dance community. Any help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like more information. You can also learn much about Cyan by googling her name. Sincerely, Kellie Maroney (Aunt)”
